The people behind
He may have been a finance professor by day, but my grandfather was always an adventurer at heart. Germany, China, Italy, New Zealand—he went everywhere, and always with his camera. After he passed away, we found over 5000 pictures he’d taken around the world, and I’m sharing them here in his honor. It was a dream of his to have his photos seen and enjoyed by a wide audience. Learn more about Les and his incredible life at his memorial site.
Les introduced me to photography by lending me his cameras when I was a kid. In 2015, I bought my own so I could honor his memory, carry on the tradition, and take a lot more photos. Today, I find purpose and fulfillment in sharing my photos on Unsplash, and in seeing how my eye develops the more time I devote to practicing photography.
